Toledo Correctional Institution

R Engineering Team, LLC performed professional services for the Toledo Correctional Institution in Toledo, Ohio.

This project consisted of the following facilities:

• Administration Building

• Inmate Housing Unit

• Minimum Security Camp  

• Warehouse

• Entrance Building

• Guardhouse

The Prison houses 2200 inmates.

The Administration Building houses the following central plant and support functions for the Prison:

• Heating Plant (Hot water boilers)

• Chiller Plant (Electrical centrifugal chillers)

• Power Plant (Emergency Generators)

• Laundry

• Food Service

• Medical Facility

The Warehouse houses the following central plant and support functions for the Prison:

• Food Storage

• Central Shop

• Vehicle Maintenance

• Central Storage

The Camp is a standalone facility that houses 126 inmate work population.

This facility opened in October 2000. The total construction cost was $90 million.

Ohio State Penitentiary

R Engineering Team, LLC performed professional services for Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown, Ohio.

This project consisted of the following facilities:

• Maximum Security Prison

• Support Facility

• Minimum Security Camp

The Prison houses 750 of Ohio’s most dangerous inmates. Inmates are maintained in 23 hour lockdown cells.

The Support Facility houses the following central plant and support functions for the Prison:

• Chiller Plant (Electrical centrifugal chillers)

• Power Plant (Utility and Standby Generators)

• Warehouse

• Laundry Central Shop

• Vehicle Maintenance

The Camp is a standalone facility that housed 126 inmate work population. This facility opened in April 1998. The total construction cost was $70 million.
